JAMMU: It is time of reckoning for Kashmir society at large. Politicians have done enough politics. Civil society has milked much to remain in spotlight. Separatists are done with their day by securing future of their generations after siphoning whatever came their way from all over as pay-off for blood of poor and innocent Kashmiris, who have been left to rehabilitate graveyards as ‘martyrs’.
The Handwara girl has shown the way and it is now for common Kashmiri, either to take inspiration from her valour or to dump her as yet another informer or whatsoever. The social network sites are already replete of contemptuous adages added to her by paid drawing room zealots. They have shown no mercy in committing character assassination of a truthful girl, who again repeated what shocked nation on seeing and hearing the video which went viral.

“In her statement before the Judicial Magistrate, she (the Handwara girl) reveals that on 12-04-2-16, after school hours while proceeding to her home along with her friends she entered in a public lavatory near main Chowk Handwara for answering the call of nature. As soon as she came out of the lavatory, she was confronted, assaulted and dragged by two boys and her bag was snatched among whom one boy was in school uniform,” the police said with a news agency adding that the girl stood by her earlier statement that she was not molested by any army soldier on Tuesday.
The Tuesday statement is still haunting self-respecting people with girl saying one of the boys telling her, “Kashur Aese Mudemat”. In lose English translation, the boy while blaming her for having relationship with an army man telling ‘why doesn’t she go with them; after all Kashmiris are not dead’.
The two boys, as can be made out, must be conduits of Pakistan and her lackeys who wanted to create a scene to achieve twin objectives of getting the army bunker in Handwara Chowk shifted for obvious reason of smooth movement of terrorists in the town and to perpetrate widespread violence across Kashmir to keep the pot boiling. Besides, there has been a general motto of maligning the army and crying hoarse on human rights violations.
But, the two boys and their perpetrators have gone wrong this time as the brave but caged girl has exploded their sinister design. She has spoken truth and the truth is that this was yet another attempt to nail and frame the army. This has happened several times in the past when rapes were committed by terrorists, donning army fatigues and blame shifted to armed forces. A common Kashmiri knows the truth but for the fear of gun and scare of so-called Messiahs they have been maintaining silence and doing whatever told by Geelanis, Mirwaizs and Shahs and facilitated by the so-called mainstream leaders. After all Kashmir has become a big enterprise for Pakistan, terrorists, separatists and mainstreamists. They are flourishing their enterprise at the blood of poor Kashmiri, whose voice stands throttled.
Don’t Kashmiris know how self-respecting elite including noted surgeons and businessmen fled from the Valley in early nineties to save the honour and dignity of their daughters? That was the time when militancy was so much glamorized that any ruffian turned terrorist had access to households and do whatever they liked. Kashmir is traumatized with such instances where girls were abducted by self-styled Mujahids and subjected to dishonor.
There is a reason for self-respecting people keeping their mouths shut and that is indifferent attitude of the Government of India and successive State Governments. Both kept shielding terror monsters and their upper ground leaders in the mistaken belief of breaking ice some day to bring them on negotiation table. This is even the core of Agenda of Alliance of PDP-BJP Government which wants the Centre to open channels of talks with separatists, who are nothing but bunch of vested interests. They have accumulated so much of wealth and clout that even the mighty Enforcement Directorate or the Income Tax Department maintains unreasonable distance from them.
Now that the Handwara girl has taken lid off the can of worms, the Kashmir society will have to rise and call the bluff of terror beneficiaries. These beneficiaries are everywhere-in the mainstream politics, bureaucracy, police hierarchy, separatists and Mujahids.
The common Kashmiri will either have to believe Handwara girl and act or leave her to die the death of indignity. So far she has not been able to draw the attention of civilized world which projected Malala of Pakistan for furthering their interests in war against terror. Is Handwara girl lesser brave than Malala?
By speaking truth, the Handwara girl has posed a big pointer to Director General of Police and his organization which has failed in nabbing the two boys who generated tension in North Kashmir, which resulted in death of five persons. They are not only the killers of these civilians but also villains of defaming valiant Indian soldiers.
The DGP will have to take a call without caring two hoots for PDP-BJP Government which is conniving with peace inimical elements.
If these two boys are allowed to remain incognito by the people and the
police, others will be encouraged to repeat and trample the modesty of several other girls.
