Bovine smuggling bid foiled; two arrested

KATHUA: Kathua police on Sunday arrested two bovine smugglers while 10 cattle were recovered from a truck loaded from village Khukhyal.
The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Mosin, son of Shafi, resident of Bhatyal, Doda and Nazir, son of Irshad, resident of Uri.
The truck (JK014A-8082) on way to Srinagar was seized by police team led by Kathua SHO Sarbjit Singh, SDPO Hq DySP S S Sambyal under the supervision of Kathua SSP Pawan Parihar.
In the last one month, 10 bovine smuggling vehicles have been seized in Kathua town. Police said, “A massive drive has been launched against the bovine smugglers and the drug peddlers in the Kathua town.”
