REASI: Police on Saturday arrested a bootlegger and recovered 25 litres illicit Desi liquor and around 100 litres Lahan from his possession.
According to a report, a team of police personnel headed by Amod Ashok Nagpure, SHO Police Station Reasi under the supervision of Mohan Lal, Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi during raid at village Lamsoora recovered 25 litres illicit Desi liquor and around 100 litres Lahan from the possession of Suram Singh son of Dharam Singh and Puran Singh son of Punjab Singh both residents of Lamsoora No.1 Tehsil and District Reasi.
They had concealed the liquor/Lahan in the fields of accused Puran Singh. The accused person Suram Singh has been arrested however Puran Singh managed to escape from the spot. The efforts are on to nab him. The recovered liquor has been seized and Lahan destroyed on the spot. A case under FIR No. 100/2015 section 48-A Excise Act was registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation is in progress.
