KATRA : Continuing the drive to check smuggling of liqour to holy town of Katra where sale of liqour and meat is banned the GRP Katra officials under the directions and close supervision of A. K Mahajan SSP Railways arrested a bootlegger and recovered 30 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession.
Insp Shahzad Ahmed Khan SHO GRP Katra alongwith his team apprehended one Sat Pal Singh son of Shankar Singh resident of Devi Bani Manwal Distt Udhampur. During search the police recovered 30 pouches of illicit liquor (250 ml. each), which he was concealing in a bag for sale in the holy town. The Railway Police officials seized the liquor, arrested the accused and case FIR.8/2014 under section 48-A excise Act / 188 RPC stands registered at Police Station GRP Katra for investigation.
