RAMBAN: One bootlegger was arrested by Ramban Police on Tuesday for trying to smuggle 72 pouches of whisky.
According to a report, during routine checking, a police team of Police Station Batote apprehended one person namely Karnail Chand son of Amar Chand resident of Kashtigarh District Doda, who was traveling towards Doda on foot near Bhadarwah Morh.
During his checking, 72 pouches of whisky were recovered from his possession. Accordingly, the accused has been arrested and booked under relevant sections at Police Station Batote. The arrest was made by Inspr. Arun Kotwal SHO Police Station Batote under the supervision of Rafiq Choudhary, Dy. SP Hqrs Ramban and Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban.
