RAMBAN: Police on Tuesday arrested a bootlegger and recovered 56 pouches of liquor from his possession.
According to a report, during Naka checking at Dhalwas Morh one person carrying a box on seeing Naka de-boarded the matador from a distance away from Naka and started moving on foot towards Peerah. On being stopped by police and checking of box, it was found carrying 56 pouches of JK Excise Liquor. The accused was identified as Kartar Nath son of Parmanand resident of Khanni Peerah and a case vide FIR no 21 under section 48 (a) Excise Act was registered against him at Police Station Chanderkot. The arrest was made by police party led by Inspr Daljeet Singh, SHO Police Station Chanderkot.
