BJP’s wrong policies have affected development: Manohar

KATHUA: Former Minister and General Secretary PCC, Dr Manohar Lal blamed the wrong policies adopted by PDP-BJP coalition has hampered development especially in backward and far-flung areas.
During his visit to far-flung areas of Kathua District, Manohar stated that Billawar, Basohli and Bani areas of the District has remained without any development since the formation of the government.
Dr Sharma said that the coalition government has launched a special programme for the development of backward and far-flung areas namely Bad Pocket Area Development Programe (BPADP) and for which Rs 50 crores kept in Budget every year from financial year 2011-12 in additional to normal funds, but BJP released nothing till date since its formation. A number of schemes under PHE, PWD(R&B), PDD for construction of roads, bridges, water supply schemes and LT ext and creation of sub stations has started during 2011-12 for Billawar, Basohli and Bani but unfortunately all projects had been left midway due to non-availability of funds under BPADP for the last two years.
Sharma said that BJP and PDP government had closed about 1,380 primary and middle schools and most of them in far-flung areas. He said most of the government hospitals in the district are without medicines and other surgical items.
Sharma blamed BJP-led Government at Centre for the financial crunch which has hampered developmental work. He said that there is only 25 per cent of funds in most of the State sectors and Centre Sponsored Schemes are released up to 15th of March 2016.
Sharma expressed concern over the failure of BJP government to proceed further the ongoing projects and schemes started by our govt. and left abandoned almost all of public welfare projects as well as schemes midway without any reasons. He said that most of these projects are executed/completed more than 50-60 per cent of its actual works and crores of money has been spent.
Sharma accused BJP for its failure to make functional the administrative units created by previous government to provide door-to-door, effective and easy administrative facility for all. He said that a number of sub-division, tehsils, blocks and Niabit tehsils are created state cabinet on public demand, but government is not agreed to implement this order for their political motive.
He also accused the BJP for surrendering the interests of the Jammuites for the sake of power and deceived the people who voted heavily in favour of the party during the last only due to the efforts put in by the people of Jammu that the Government was pressurised to announce another AIIMS at Jammu. The failure of the government exposed the real face of BJP and its leadership before the public of the region, he added.
