JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Wednesday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for securing a historic third consecutive victory in Haryana.
Reacting on the election results in Jammu & Kashmir, while addressing reporters, Chugh said that the BJP has once again demonstrated its growing strength and appeal in the region.
He noted that the BJP has increased its seat share to 32 percent in 2024, compared to 29 percent in 2014 and 13 percent in 2008, highlighting a steady rise in the party’s influence in Jammu and Kashmir.
“This consistent rise in our seat share is proof of the trust and confidence that the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana have reposed in the Prime Minister’s vision for development, stability, and progress,” Chugh said.
Chugh emphasized the significant progress made by the BJP, underscoring the party’s growing influence in the region. In the 2024 elections, the BJP secured 29 seats out of the 62 it contested, marking an increase of four seats compared to its performance in 2014. The party’s vote share also rose by 2.66 percent, from 22.98 percent in 2014 to 25.64 percent in 2024, surpassing the National Conference’s 23.43 percent vote share. The BJP’s ability to mobilize a larger voter base, growing from 3.55 lakh votes to a total of 14.62 lakh votes, underscores its expanding appeal and strengthened foothold in the state.
Chugh further remarked, “The BJP’s success is a result of the unwavering efforts of our dedicated party workers, the undisputed leadership of PM Narendra Modi, and our commitment to inclusive growth in the region. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the aspirations of every citizen in Jammu & Kashmir are met, and that the region continues on its path to peace and prosperity.”
Chugh also highlighted the historic third consecutive victory in Haryana after securing 48 seats in the 90-member assembly and thanked the voters of Haryana for their continued support and clear mandate.
He condemned the Congress party’s usual theatrics of blaming the EVMs and the Election Commission after every election result, dismissing these claims as baseless and unrealistic.
