BJP will face agitation on 73rd Amendment issue: AJKPC
STATE TIMES NEWS
SRINAGAR: Accusing the Bhartiya Janata Party of completely deviating from its so called stands on various issues, Shafiq Mir Chairman All J and K Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) said that the Panchayat members of the State will launch an agitation against Bhartiya Janata Party in the entire State of Jammu and Kashmir and fight will be taken to the streets.
Making scathing attack on PDP -BJP government in the state of Jammu and Kashmir for its attempt to weaken the PRI Act of the State by bringing some amendments, Shafiq Mir said in a statement issued here that it was the BJP which once would demand the implementation on Central Act (73rd Amendment) of Indian Constitution in the State to strengthen the democracy at grass root level, but now when in power, the same BJP is weakening the democratic institutions on behest of its partner PDP.
“It is unfortunate that we have sacrificed our people to the bullets of anti national forces to strengthen democracy in this State but this so called nationalistic party is making all efforts to weaken such intuitions and it is nothing but a service to the antinational forces who have always been against democratic institutions in the State of Jammu and Kashmir”, said Mir adding that the Panchayat members of the State will start an agitation in the State if any Bill is passed to make present PRI Act more weak by incorporating amendments .
It is unfortunate that instead of pressing its partner PDP to extend 73rd Amendment of Indian Constitution to the State of Jammu and Kashmir, BJP is out to weaken even the existing Panchayati Raj Act of Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
Asking the BJP to desist from doing such acts for the sake of power, Mir said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have sacrificed lot for the sake of democracy and they will never let anyone to do this dirty politics for the sake of power.
He said that the BJP has got completely exposed and now its leaders have only one point agenda to mint money no matter if it is got by pushing the sovereignty and integrity of the country at stake.
