BJP wears Kashmir ideology over Jammu’s skin: Chuni
State Times News
RAJOURI: To express strong resentment over biased approach of government in dealing different displaced communities of the State with different yardsticks, SOS International – An Organisation for PoK Displaced Persons on Sunday organised a massive rally at Rajouri. Thousands of life members of SOS International from Rajouri attended the rally and expressed their anguish against Union and State Governments over their discriminative conduct while handling the issues of PoK Refugees who have been facing the brunt of system for the last seven decades.
Targeting BJP for keeping most biased approach towards PoK refugees who are bonafide citizens of J and K State, Chuni said that BJP leaders came to PoK refugees with begging bowl during elections. “Tall promises were made which include permanent settlement of PoK refugees, reservation to the wards in professional and technical institutions across India, reservation to unemployed youths in Government jobs, constitution of PoK refugees development board, reservation of Assembly and Council seats for PoK refugees and many more but Alas! BJP totally back stepped from its promises. What a joke being played with the most destitute community of the State!” Chuni exclaimed.
Chuni further said that the depressed situation of PoK Refugees is not cloaked to anyone adding, that government’s step mother behaviour is elevating the agony of the first ever victims of the State. “Since 1947, PoK DPs have been struggling for much awaited justice but it is denied all the time which has been adding more afflictions to our survival. In all phases, we have been fallen prey to hostile government policies for several times but this time we are not going to tolerate any unfavourable step of Government anymore” he added.
“It can be gauged by the fact that BJP has been talking and working only for Kashmir by totally neglecting the cause of PoK refugees since the day it has taken the reigns of the State with its Coalition partner PDP. BJP is talking about the rehabilitation of Valley migrants who are displaced within the State and enjoying all sorts of benefits which includes free accommodation, free electricity, free water, free monthly ration, monthly cash relief, health care facilities, community halls, reservation for their wards in professional and technical institutions across the country, employment package and what not”, SOS International Chairman added.
Speaking further, he said that BJP talks about separatists who keep anti-India agenda, spread terror, spew venom against India and much more. “It is clear that BJP has been wearing Kashmir centric ideology over the skin of Jammu as BJP is sharing power with PDP only due to Jammu that voted BJP wholeheartedly. BJP has won most of Assembly seats and both parliamentary seats from Jammu region in which PoK refugees played a vital role to bring BJP on driver’s seat but sidelining the foremost victims of this border State is absolutely unpardonable and intolerable for which BJP can’t be forgiven. Astonishingly, BJP is now playing the flute of Kashmir from where it failed to open its account but having a lot of affection towards Kashmiri over Jammu is hard to digest” Chuni stated. He further said that PoK refugees who played a vital role to save the State that is also known as ‘Crown of India’ is facing the apathy of Saffron party at every step.
