BJP using Army’s action for political gains: CPIM
New Delhi:- Latching onto media reports about BJP putting up banners in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh to laud the surgical strikes, CPI(M) today accused it of using the Army’s action for political gains and termed it “despicable”.
“Despicable to see an Indian Army operation being used for political gains in rallies and on election posters of BJP.
“Lines deliberately being blurred between ruling political party, its fountainhead, and Central govt. India far bigger than their PR machine (sic),” party general secretary Sitaram Yechury tweeted.
The Army had conducted surgical strikes on seven terror launch pads across the Line of Control on the intervening night of September 28 and 29, 10 days after the Uri terror attack in which 17 Indian soldiers were killed, while two jawans later succumbed to injuries.
