BJP remembers Rani Laxmi Bai on her 157th martyrdom day

JAMMU: To pay rich tributes to Rani Laxmi Bai of ‘Jhansi’ on her 157th Martyrdom Day, an impressive programme was organised by Freedom Fighter and Martyrs Cell of BJP in collaboration with BJP Mahila Morcha.
It is to mention that Rani Laxmi Bai is known to be a great martyr who fought for supreme self esteem and pride of Jhansi while fighting against the Britishers.
BJP State Vice-President and MLA Sat Sharma, State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, Mahila Morcha State President Purnima Sharma, Freedom Fighter and Martyrs Cell State Convenor Bharat Bhushan were present on the occasion and paid floral tributes to Rani Laxmi Bai.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma while paying rich tribute said that, “We all should follow the example set by the greater martyr of the nation Rani Laxmi Bai”.
Ashok Kaul threw light on the brief history of Rani Laxmi Bai and expressed that modern women of today should imitate the life of Rani Laxmi Bai whenever the society needs.
Purnima said that Rani Laxmi Bai should be remembered in context to the upliftment of women who are still considered as a weaker part of the society and also in context to their enlightment of social upbringing as well as education of the women so that they can keep themselves secured from all the social abuses. She linked the modern context of “Beti bachao, Beti Padhao” to the deep thought of Rani Laxmi Bai the brave savior of fighting against all the difficulties of life.
S.S Bijral and others paid rich tribute to Rani Laxmi Bai in the presence of gathering of many more prominent people. Bharat Bhushan presented the vote of thanks.
