STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Expressing concern over the present political crisis and chaotic situation pertaining in absence of an elected Government in the State, former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla on Thursday said both BJP and PDP have betrayed people by disrespecting their respective mandates. They can no longer befool the people like they have done prior to the formation of the Government in the State.
Bhalla was addressing party workers during a corner meeting in Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
Accusing BJP and PDP of being responsible for present crisis in State, he said that the present stalemate is an attempt by PDP and BJP to hoodwink the people. Both coalition partners have letdown the people with the sole aim to serve their political ends, resulting in, people in all the three are facing difficult situation. Bhalla lamented the fact that people of J and K State are the worst hit in absence of an elected Government, for the fact, there is no one who can listen and address the issues concerning people in a best possible manner, he said.
Referring to the shortage of basic amenities, former Minister expressed his serious concern over the erratic supply of electricity and non availability of basic amenities. He urged the administration to take measures for mitigating the sufferings of people, on war footing basis. Urging Party Cadres to gear up for the challenges the State is grappled with, he exhorted them to get ready for the challenges. He said Congress Party feels that people of the State should not suffer due to the wrong policies of BJP and PDP and believes that there should be an elected government in place, so that aspirations of the masses in all three regions are addressed fully.
Bhalla asked PDP leadership not to play more politics over the government formation with the BJP and instead clear its stand. “PDP leadership claims that ‘Agenda of Alliance’ reached with BJP last year is sacred. If it (Agenda of Alliance) was sacred, was it without Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) which PDP President Mehbooba Mufti and others speak now,” Bhalla said.
“If for the 10 months PDP leadership often used to claim this (PDP-BJP) alliance was the best in the history of the State what happened all of a sudden that they now need more CBMs?” The Congress leader questioned.
