BJP led Union Govt pro-industrialists, anti-people: G.M Saroori
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Terming BJP as pro-industrialists and anti-people, Senior Congress leader and MLA-elect, G.M Saroori on Wednesday said that voters elected BJP with great hopes of development but in a short span of time, the party has shown its real face by taking anti-people stand such as weakening of MGNREGA and giving huge tax concessions to industrial houses.
Saroori threatened to start agitation if State Rural Development Department as well as Central Government failed to clear the liability of Rs. 48 crore for MNREGA job card holders from district Doda and Kishtwar.
Saroori warned the Central Government and Rural Development Department that in case of further delay in the payment of liability and wages he along with thousands of MNREGA job card holders will start an agitation.
Saroori also accused the State Finance Department that the government already had around Rs 117 crore on account of MGNREGA work but deliberate delay in dispensing the same is a mockery with people who are on the verge of starvation. “They were provided this livelihood security through MGNREGA by the UPA Government at the Centre”, he asserted.
Saroori sought intervention of Governor N.N Vohra for clearing the liability of Erstwhile Doda which is around Rs 48 crore.
Meanwhile, he visited Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and directed the senior doctors and the authorities concerned to provide every required medical facility to the patients hailing from Doda District, who are suffering from various diseases.
Saroori also interacted with the patients at GMCH and enquired about the status of patients and assured them for all possible help. He also instructed the hospital authorities and doctors to provide every required medical facility to the patients so that they do not feel any inconvenience.
