BJP Ladakh calls Leh Apex Body, Kargil Democratic-Alliance part of Gupkar Alliance

APEX-KDA to organise protest rally in Jammu on Jan 15

LEH: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ladakh alleged that Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) are working hand in glove with Gupkar Alliance and condemned the recent statement made by member Apex Body and Vice President Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) Chering Dorjay Lakruk who, in an interview to a media channel, had made an observation stating that given the present scenario, earlier arrangement of being part of J&K was better for Ladakh.
Talking to the media here in Leh, State President BJP Ladakh Phunstog Stanzin termed it very unfortunate that the Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance have not accepted the formation of the High-Powered Committee by the Government of India on Ladakh. He alleged that Apex-KDA had held several meetings with the Gupkar Alliance before taking this decision. Phunstog Stanzin appealed to Apex-KDA leaders to reconsider the decision taken and be a part of the committee formed to resolve Ladakh’s issues. Stanzin said Chering Dorjay Lakruk, who is an incumbent Vice President of LBA, has no moral ground to be on the post of Vice President LBA any longer and sought an apology from him for the statement he had made.
“We feel that Apex Body and KDA are intending to take Ladakh back to Jammu & Kashmir, make it a part of J&K State once again, which we will never allow at any cost,” BJP leader Dorje Angchuk said. While another BPJ leader PT Kunzang alleged that Apex Body and KDA in association with Gupkar alliance have a hidden agenda to struggle for the restoration of article 370 and 35 (A). BJP will never allow any move to take Ladakh back to be a part of Jammu & Kashmir once again, he added.
Meanwhile, Leh Apex Body and KDA have resolved to organise a protest rally in Jammu from Indira Chowk to Press Club Jammu on 15 January to demand full-fledged Statehood for Ladakh, Constitutional Safeguard under Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of India, early recruitment process and Public Service Commission for Ladakh, and separate Lok Sabha seats for Leh and Kargil districts.
