JAMMU: The BJP Government at the Centre and PDP-BJP Government in the State has betrayed the youth of the State by not fulfilling promises made with the youth during Parliament elections and State Assembly elections resulting in fast growing alienation among youth.
This was stated by former Minister and senior National Conference leader, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra while addressing a public meeting at Patniyal in Marh Assembly Constituency. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Madan Lal Sharma.
Addressing the meeting, Sadhotra said that BJP-PDP made promises with the youth to provide employment to them.
Even the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi also promised the country to provide employment to about two crore youth every year but neither the youth of the country got employment nor that of the State. The tall promises made with youth have proved as hollow promises, he said.
National Conference leader said the youth is disgusted and feeling duped and alienated for which PDP is not making any serious effort to satisfy their genuine urges and aspirations.
“Even the youth who had adopted government contractorship as the source of their earning, have not been getting regular payments for the works executed during the last three years of the BJP-PDP Government in the State,” he said, adding that the liabilities of more than Rs 1,500 crore have been accumulated resulting in self employed youth (contractors) losing faith in BJP-PDP Government.
Sadhotra said “It’s high time for BJP-PDP Government to rise from the deep slumber and make all efforts to provide employment to the educated, semi-educated and un-educated youth so that they could make both ends meet and can live peaceful and respectful life.”
During the meeting large number of people joined the National Conference. Those who joined include Avinash Baloria, Mukesh Sharma, Abhishek, Sunil Kumar, Balbir Kumar, Uttam Kumar, Shubam Kumar, Raghu Sharma, Saurabh Sharma, Ajay Bhagat, Anil Kumar, Pankaj Sharma, Dinesh Kumar, Kewal Krishan, Subash Chander and Kannu.
Sadhotra welcomed the new entrants in the party and expressed confidence that their joining the party will strengthen National Conference and its leadership.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Ch Keemat Lal Ex-Sarpanch, Dewan Singh Ex-Sarpanch, Charan Dass Ex-Sarpanch, Saudagar Singh Ex-Sarpanch, Gurnam Singh, Aditya Jamwal, Sidharth, Kasturi Lal, Lal Chand Gandotra, Capt. Joginder and Narayan Dass.
