BJP blames NC, Congress for settlement of Rohingyas in Jammu

JAMMU: Expressing party’s concern over the illegal immigration of Rohingyas in different parts of Jammu, State BJP Chief, Sat Sharma said that the previous governments of Congress and National Conference compromised on the security of the State for vote bank politics and facilitated the unchecked flow of a large number of people from the neighbour countries.
Speaking at the seminar organised by the Good Governance Department of BJP on ‘Illegal Immigrants -Big Threat to Jammuites’, Sat emphasised that the previous governments, few NGOs and the forces working against the nation, are responsible for their settlement in this border State. He said that the people of Jammu should understand the gravity of the situation which may turn dangerous in coming times and work towards the deportation of all such foreign nationals from the State.
HoD of Good Governance, Prof. Virender Gupta, while presenting the facts and figures related to the population and areas of the settlement of the illegal immigrants, said that it is a burning issue of today as it will have dangerous consequences if the people living here illegally are not deported off from Jammu. It is a serious matter that these people have obtained ration cards, voter cards, and constructed their houses and their activities should be under scanner.
Col. (Retd.) Krishan Chand, in his address, said that the militancy and police operations cannot be successful without the local guidance and help and being border state the people who have settled in J&K, they might become tools for such purposes.
MLA Kathua Rajeev Jasrotia, while speaking on the subject, said that the BJP has to take lead in educating the people of Jammu about the need to stand like a wall against the settlement of foreign nationals as it is also important for the security of the future generations.
President Panun Kashmir, Ashwani Chrungoo said that the forces which had hatched a conspiracy for the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from the Valley, seems to be having joined hands with the people settled in Jammu to bring demographic change, which is highly dangerous development.
Advocate Hunar Gupta, while speaking on the issue said that it is only after filing PIL in the case in the Court that all different stakeholders got aware and started thinking it seriously, which is good development.
BJP leader Parneesh Mahajan read the welcome address, eminent educationalist Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu conducted the proceedings while V.K Sethi, retired CEO, presented vote of thanks.
