JAMMU: Accusing the BJP of bartering away the pride and honour of the people of Jammu region to satiate its lust for power, Harsh Dev Singh, JKNPP Chairman and former Minister, on Wednesday made an appeal to the people of Jammu to strengthen Panthers Party which he claimed was the only credible voice of the people of the region.
“JKNPP was the only recognised political party from Jammu region as against the other two recognised political parties of J and K namely NC and PDP which were Kashmir based and predominantly raked up Kashmir centric issues,” he said adding that BJP which had mesmerised and lured the people of Jammu region with its seductive slogans during elections inflicted the biggest dent upon Dogra pride by succumbing on almost all Jammu based issues before its Kashmiri masters.
Charging the BJP for its betrayal on its professed promises and fundamentals, Singh urged upon the people to oppose, expose and depose the saffron juggernaut for its demagoguery and sheer opportunism.
“Strengthen Panthers Party in its fight against bias and discrimination” appealed Harsh while addressing the 36 new entrants into the party fold who had Mehbooba Mufti that resigned from their respective parties and joined JKNPP at Party Headquarters, here on Wednesday.
He said that hoisting of Tricolour which symbolised the national pride and honour could not be conditional or made hostage to the whims of politicians only to please subversive and separatist forces.
Singh said that the issue of imposition of Kashmiri language on Dogras in Jammu Degree Colleges, neglect of Dogri, illegal settlement of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, cultural and demographic invasion of Jammu were the issues on which the JKNPP needed the support of one and all.
Prominent among those who joined Panthers Party included S. Anoop Singh, S. Amandeep Singh, S. Pawandeep Singh, S. Surinder Singh, S. Ravinder Singh, S. Gurcharan Singh, Raj Kumar, S. Amolak Singh, S. Raghuvir Singh, Kali Dass, Rakesh Gupta, Rakesh Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Hardev Singh, Partap Manhas, Rahul Singh, Sahil Sharma, Govind Malvi, S. Sarabjit Singh, S. Gurmeet Singh, Ajay Kumar, Sahil Bhagat, Nitish Kumar and Suman Chib.
