Bina of Delhi lifts 111th Jagti Saya Dangal title

JAMMU: Delhi wrestler, Bina lifted the 111th Annual Jagti Saya Dangal title beating top J&K wrestler, Benia Min of J&K Police in the top bout that turned out to be an entertaining contest for the enchanting gathering, who supported the local lad at packed venue of Jagti Saya, here.
The day-long dangal was organised by Dangal Committee Jagti Saya in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Parveen Singh (president) and Abdul Rashid Malik (chairman).
Social activist and contractor by profession, Rajesh Sharma of Katra was the chief guest while former Joint Secretary of J&K Sports Council and president Kreeda Bharati J&K, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided.
President Yuva Rajput Sabha, Vikram Singh Chib and Rajan Singh (Happy) were guests of honour.
Prominent persons present were retired Inspector Uttam Singh, Sub-Inspector Ishfaq , ex-Sarpanch Thoru Ram and Sawant Singh (contractor).
The winner of the top bout, Bina awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 61,000 while Benia of J&K got Rs 50,000. The second main bout won by Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu) of J&K Police beating Chandi of Delhi to receive a cash prize of Rs 31,000. Chandi presented Rs 20,000 worth prize.
The third main bout between Rashid (Vijaypur) of Akhara Domana and Ashish of Delhi ended in a draw with the result both the wrestlers shared Rs 41,000 prize money.
In fourth bout, Nadeem of Doda defeated Vishal of Delhi. Other Results: Surjeet Singh of J&K Police beat Nikhal of Delhi; Mam Hussain of Domel beat Jorden of Delhi; Arjun of Jammu beat Amit of Haryana and Babba of Kot Bhalwal Jammu beat Neeru Gujjar of BSF Chandigarh; Yuv Raj of Akhnoor drew against Irfan of Doda; Sachin of Haryana drew against Munir of Nagrota (J&K Police).
In all, 65 bouts were played in this dangal and Rs. Five lakh worth cash prizes given away to the wrestlers.
Members of Jagti Saya Dangal Committee, who helped in smooth conduct of the event, were Parveen Singh, (president), Abdul Rashid Malik (chairman), Pardeep Singh (general secretary), Romesh Singh, Suram Singh, Raghubir Singh, Abdul Rashid, contractor, Dr. Saleem Choudhary, Janak Raj and Pawan Singh.
The bouts were officiated by the technical panel including Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Sat Paul Verma, Om Parkash Verma Deepak Wazir, Raj Singh, Tulinder Kumar, Sahil Sharma and Pardeep Singh.
