Big brother
Dear Editor,
The problem with India’s neighbourhood policy is hegemony. As a result, New Delhi has lost the goodwill of its neighbours, not just Pakistan. There must be thorough soul-searching in India in this regard.
India first must be honest to itself about its avowed friendship and goodwill towards its neighbours. The resolution of the decades-long Kashmir problem will be the litmus test in this regard. Then, all problems of mistrust will disappear.
Also, it’s silly for India to blame neighbours such as China. The ball squarely remains in the court of New Delhi and its blinkered foreign policy mandarins.
