JAMMU: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sanasthan (BLSKS) staged 26th musical play Beti Bachao in collaboration with ESRM and Unison Cultural Troupe as a part of its regular feature here on Saturday. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, Health Department, who was also the Chief Guest while former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, V.K Magotra, Dr. Anju Dogra, Vinod Dogra and Vijay Malla Producer Director, IPTA were the Guests of Honour.
The Chief Guest lauding the role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the State to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre/drama which are still very powerful medium of communication.
The play was written, produced and directed by Chairman BLSKS, M.L Dogra. The story of the play highlighted the ill effects associated with the practice of child marriage prevalent in conservative families. The staging of Beti Bachao evoked human emotions which led the audience to applaud the performances with sobbing eyes. The music was composed by Raju Bajgal.
The artists who participated in the play include Romesh Chander (Event Director), Rajni Gupta, Shivani Disgotra, Harjinder Kour, Anu Pandita, Gurjeet Kour, Nitin Pandita, Rakshit Sharma, Sunil Kumar (Tabla), Druv Pandit, Bodh Raj, Anantika, Abhi, Shiban, Archna, J.K Koul, K.K Joshi, Asha Zaroo, Kamli, Ekesh Bahn, Bhoomika Chib, Rajveer, Devam Jandiyal, Samarth Gupta, Rahul Wanchoo, Mohammad Afroz, Kuldeep, Shiv Kumar and Deepak Kumar.
