JAMMU: Bhargav Sports Club defeated Hockey Legends by nine goals to six in the opening day of Ist Shaheed Chaar Sahibzaade Veteran Hockey Cup Tournament being organised by Bhargav Sports Club at Bhargav School Ground, Gadigarh here.
For Bhargav Sports, the two goals each were scored by Gurmeet Singh and P.P Singh (Senior) while Prithi Pal Singh (Riti) scored one goal while Gurmeet Singh scored one goal and Harpreet Singh scored two goals for Hockey Legends in first half. The first half ended with 5-3 score.
In second half, P.P Singh (senior) wil his good display scored four goal for Bhargav Sports Club while Gurmeet Singh scored two goals and Harpreet Singh scored one goal for Hockey Legends and match ended with the win of Bhargav Sports Club by nine goals to six.
Earlier the tournament was declared open by the chief guest, Balwinder Singh, RTI activist and President Sikh Progressive Front in the presence of Guest of Honour, Sanjogita Soodan, Health Officer JMC.
The match was officiated by Joginder Singh, Sakhsham Sharma, Sahil Sharma, Rasveer Singh and Madur Choudhary.
