Bhalla for uniform distribution of ration in urban, rural areas
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Terming both BJP and PDP completely unaware of grievances of people and maintaining that great cry and little wool are synonyms with regard to their working during their 10 months rule in Coalition Government, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla said that people have been suffering due to myopic policies of these political outfits.
He said this while leading a protest of people from Karan Bagh, Chatha, Bhor Camp, Govindpur and adjoining areas against different yardsticks adopted by the Government with respect to distribution of ration in Rural and Urban areas.
The protesters demanded that the distribution of ration should be streamlined without differentiating on the lines of rural and urban areas as this is against the very principle of democracy and also against the fundamental rights guaranteed in the Constitution. Bhalla said that it is unfortunate that leaders of both BJP and PDP have no concern and time to address the basic issues including power, potable water, ration and other basic requirements which are vital to lead a normal life.
Bhalla slammed both Central and State Governments for their failure to control rising inflation which has badly affected domestic budget thereby making their life from bad to worst and making it extremely difficult for them to make their both ends meet.
Criticising BJP for compromising on principles for the sake of power, Bhalla said all their tall claims of being pro-Jammu and firm supporters of issues of Jammu regions have fallen flat.
Bhalla assured that the grievances and issues of people will be taken into consideration and he will leave no stone unturned in highlighting their grievances at the concerned platforms.
Bhalla cautioned the people to remain alert against divisive politics of BJP and PDP to ensure peace, brotherhood and tranquility in the society. The protest was organised by the Congress Block President Amrit Bali. Aya Singh, Vishal Singh, Kewal Krishan, Titander Singh, Assa Singh, Kewal Singh, Bal Krishan, Joginder, Ramesh, Raj Kumar, Sham Lal and Gurbachan Kour were also present.
