Bhalla asks for use of quality material

JAMMU: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla on Saturday conducted an extensive tour of Gandhi Nagar constituency and inspected pace of progress on under execution civic and other development works.
The minister also launched new projects at Ashok Nagar, Digiana, Gangyal Industrial Estate, Shanker Colony, Sanjay Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Sunjwan and Channi Himmat involving a cost of Rs. 41 lakh.
Interacting with locals, Bhalla said that the government was endeavoring hard to develop all the areas of the state with modern and need based infrastructural facilities adding that in this regard all the departments are working in a more organised manner for ensuring better services to the people.
The minister said government was providing liberal funding under developmental sectors which has greatly helped in raising the socio-economic standard of the people of the State. He said many more projects are under pipeline to develop both the urban and rural pockets of the State.
Laying stress on maintaining quality standards, Bhalla asked the officers to conduct regular inspections of the under execution works to keep a check on quality of material being used.
The minister said people’s cooperation was imperative to make Jammu and Kashmir a prosperous state. He called upon the people not pay heed to the nefarious designs of those who mislead people by false slogans to meet their personal interests. He asked the people to extend their whole hearted cooperation to the Government for maintaining peace and prosperity in the State.
Later, the minister also visited Sunjwan village and listened to the genuine problems of the people. He assured them that their genuine hardships would be redressed on priority. He said the government is fully aware of problems of the people residing in undeveloped areas of the State.
Bhalla said instructions have been issued to the allied departments to launch door-to-door visit for solving development related issues of the people on priority basis. He said government is committed to provide every infrastructural facility to the people at their door step.
The minister asked the Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) to complete project like up-gradation of nallah in the locality within stipulated time frame.
Bhalla said people’s participation is imperative in making every locality with modern lines and improved basic amenities like adequate drinking water facilities, uninterrupted power supply, healthcare, education, better roads, lanes and drains. He said there is no constraint of funds in meeting the development related hardships of the people.
The minister called upon the people to extend their cooperation and keep a watch on the implementation of schemes for better results on the ground.
