RAJOURI: B. Tech Civil Engineering Team of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) lifted Basketball final tourney held in the University Campus. Players were also selected on the occasion for North Zone Inter University Basketball Championship in Punjab.
The final of Inter Department Basketball match was played here at university campus on Friday between B Tech Civil and B Tech ERE.
In the second semifinal B Tech ERE defeated B Tech ECE by a margin of eight baskets. The final was won by B Tech Civil Engineering team in one sided game with 68-27
During the first half, the winner team was leading by 28-08 score. The main scorers were Danish Khaki and Tufail Ahmed Malik both from B Tech Civil 5th Semester.
In all, eight basketball teams of PG and under graduate department of the university took part in the tourney. During the course of competition, the basketball team to represent university for the forthcoming North Zone Inter University being hosted by Punjab Technical University Jalandhar Punjab shortly was selected.
The match was supervised by the Sports Department of the University and Burhan-ud Din Abdullah.
In valedictory function, Professor I.A Hamal, Vice Chancellor of BGSBU was Chief Guest while M.R Chowdhary, Registrar of the University was Guest of Honour.
Suneet Gupta Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor, Mohammad Din Deputy Director, Physical Education and Sports and students and faculty members were present on the occasion.
The tournament was organised by university management under the supervision of Mohammad Din Deputy Director, Physical Education and Sports of the university.
