Benia lifts 53rd Sujandhar Kesari Dangal title

REASI: Wrestler Benia Min of J&K Police lifted the 53rd Annual Sujandhar Dangal title defeating Vikas of Haryana in the main bout at village Sujandhar in tehsil Bhomag of district Reasi.
Winner Benia was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 61,000 along with traditional Gurj and Mata Ki Chunari, while runners-up Vikas got Rs. 50,000.
Dangal was organized by Shri Nag Devta Mela and Dangal Committee Sujandhar under the overall supervision of Prem Singh (president), Devinder Singh (general secratary), Tej Singh and Sohan Singh Thakur (Sonu).
The DDC Chairman Saraf Singh Nag was the chief guest. Former Joint Secratary J&K Sports Council and president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided. The BDC Chairman, Ashok Singh and social activist Sohan Singh Thakur (Sonu) were Guests of Honour.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, who is also president Senior Citizen Welfare Forum Katra (Regd.) honoured a prominent social activist Sarban Singh of Village Sujandhar (Age 80 years). Sharma also honoured president Sujandhar Dangal Committee, Prem Singh.
In total, 70 bouts were played in the one day long dangal with organisers spending funds worth Rs four lakh. Bouts officiated by the technical penal including Mohd. Nazir, Pawan Singh, Kartar Singh, Anil Kumar and Sunny Sharma (Airtel).
The second main bout won by Dillar Khan of J&K Police who defeated Babba of Kot Bhawal Jammu while third bout went to Yuv Raj of Raja Mandali Akhara Jammu after he defeated Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhawal. In fourth main bout, Yudhvir of Delhi trounced Laikat Ali of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu and the fifth bout won by Amir Khan of J&K Police beating Billa of Jammu.
Members of Sujandhar Dangal committee who helped in smooth conduct of the event included Prem Singh (president), Devinder Singh (general secretary), Taj Singh, Budhi Singh, Ram Singh, Vakil Singh (teacher), Chuni Lal, Bhuri Singh, Mukhtyar Singh, Vachiter Singh (Panch), Daleep Singh (Panch), Govind Singh (Panch), Nasib Singh (Panch), Mohd. Mansa, Hem Raj (PHE).
Other Results: Sanjay of J&K Police beat Chand of Jammu, Anil Kumar of Reasi beat Arjun of Jammu, Chain Singh of Roun Domail beat Akshay of Delhi, Vijay of Moungri beat Rajesh of Talwara, Love of Domana beat Sahil of Nawshera, bout played between Shamsher of RS Pura and Sunil of Kot Bhawal ended in a draw.
