Attempts to “fabricate and distort history” are terror of different nature which leaves less space for reason and debate. Country never faced such myopic outlook towards the social fabric of caste based society. The sole agenda behind RSS-BJP trying to rewrite history is to create a Hindu nation, where minorities are treated as second-class citizens. Those with little knowledge about history are trying to fabricate and thrust their idea which could have dangerous repercussions. It looks there is some attempt to divide the nation on religious grounds. Bending the facts and rewriting history on some person’s imagination or on fabricated truths is the most emerging dangerous trend which has led to hatred and bad blood. All this is for some pecuniary votes. Hindutva and Hinduism are different concepts with the former being used as a tool to access power. The uproar over Ayodha Temple and the film, Padamavati, is aimed at consolidation of Hindu votes. The move to obliterate the contributions and legacies of the Mughal Empire too is part of this narrow thinking and to widen the rift between communities. Slamming the rising political intolerance and the recent killings of rationalists Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare, M. M Kalburgi, has set in an atmosphere of fear in the country, where these murders are grisly reminders of an ongoing campaign against the
freedom of thought, speech and expression.
