HIRANAGAR: District Development Commissioner has placed under suspension Block Development Officer (BDO), Hiranagar for dereliction of duty and unauthorised absence.
The BDO was called to duty yesterday evening but he failed to turn up. Even today he was found absent from duty. SDM Hiaranagar inspected the office of BDO at 11:00 AM and he was found absent along with two other officials. Despite telephonic calls from the DDC, the BDO failed to turn up for relief and rescue duty and accordingly he was placed under suspension. BDO Kathua had been directed to take over the charge and he established the relief camp at Hiranagar. Addl DC Kathua has been directed to hold an enquiry in the matter for further departmental action against the delinquent BDO.
