JAMMU: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) expressed concern over non-commissioning of new BB-III, 33KV line from 50X2 MW Grid Station, Bari Brahmana.
In the meeting held here on Wednesday, President BBIA, Lalit Mahajan raised serious concern in respect of non-release of pending power connections of the industrial units of Bari Brahmana which are pending since long due to non-availability of the additional line.
The matter was brought into the knowledge of Chief Engineer, M and RE for the early release of power connections as the BB-III line is ready for commissioning but he has shown his inability to release the power connections as the Chief Engineer, System and Operation is not in a position to charge the line due to non-availability of requisite infrastructure at the grid station, Mahajan said. Subsequently, we have taken up the matter with the Chief Engineer System and Operation in this regard but he has shown his inability to charge the line due to non-availability of spare parts for the bay as the department has removed the infrastructure from the bay at grid station and does not have the funds for the purchase of requisite spares amounting to Rs. 14 lakhs to commission the line, he said.He mentioned that Dy. Chief Minister, who is also the Power Minister, was given Rs.70 lakh to the PDD for a new 33KV Line but the department has failed to commission the line which shows the casual attitude of the department towards the industrial sector. BBIA appealed to the Dy. Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh and Industries and Commerce Minister, Chander Prakash to intervene into this matter and issue necessary orders to resolve the issue on war footing basis for release of pending power connection to industrial sector of Bari Brahmana. The meeting was also attended by Rahul Bansal Senior Vice President BBIA, Varun Singla Vice President BBIA, Ajay Langer General Secretary BBIA and Viraaj Malhotra Treasurer BBIA.
