JAMMU: A delegation of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) led by its President, Lalit Mahajan met the Chief Engineer, M and RE, Power Development Department (PDD), Ashwani Gupta to discuss the deteriorating power supply in SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana, for the last 15 days.
During the course of discussion, Mahajan strongly flayed the working of PDD where nobody is accountable for repeated power failures in the industrial area for the power supply being fed through 50X2 MW Grid Station and BB-I Receiving Station. The receiving stations are in shamble due to non availability of spares, damaged panels and it takes hours to restore the power supply in case of any break down in the system, he said.
Further, he raised serious concern about the frequent tripping of power supply from the 50X2MVA Grid Station and BBI Receiving Station in Bari Brahmana Industrial Complex due to which the unit holders suffer losses.
The issue regarding the non commissioning of new 33KV line which was already installed in the complex long back but is lying unused due to the reason that the BAY is not available at the Grid Station due to not availability of parts as the same were shifted to some other places was also brought in to the notice of the Chief Engineer.
Chief Engineer assured the delegation to resolve the issues being raised by the association and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials in this regard to ensure uninterrupted power supply to industrial sector of Bari Brahmana.
The meeting was also attended by Rahul Bansal Senior Vice President BBIA, Varun Singla Vice President BBIA, Ajay Langer General Secretary BBIA, Executive Engineer, M and RE Division-II, Executive Engineer STD Division-II and other officials of the Power Development Department.
