Batwal community demands special employment package

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association on Saturday urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sanction employment package for the benefit of Batwal Community.
Addressing a meeting of the association under the chairmanship of Captain Kamal Dass Kaith, members demanded a special economic cum employment package to uplift the community.
The meeting discussed the problems being faced by the unemployed youth. Members resolved that without government jobs, the community cannot overcome poverty.
It was informed in the meeting that central dispensation had carried out an Ethnographic study to assess the socio-economic and cultural life of the Batwal Scheduled Caste community of Jammu and Kashmir State in 1994. The association members urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sanction an Employment Package to Batwal Community on the basis of Ethnographic Study undertaken in 1994 by the Planning Commission of India. They said that only employment to the community youth can enhance their economic position and bring prosperity.
