STATE TIMES NEWS
BHADARWAH: After three days of continuous rain followed by spells of snowfall, Batote-Kishtwar National Highway connecting Doda and Kishtwar Districts with rest of the State was closed for vehicular traffic on Friday morning due to shooting stones and landslides at several places between Batote-Doda stretch.
The 110 Km National Highway (NH1B) was closed again today morning due to fresh landslides and shooting stones at Pakki Hatti, Raggi Nallah and Kanderi Nallah.
Dy.SP Traffic NH1B Aftab Ahmed said that we managed to clear the overnight slides early in the morning but we were unable to restore the traffic, due to fresh landslides and shooting stones at three locations on Batote – Doda stretch of NH1B.
” Men and machines are there on the spots but shooting stones are hampering the restoration work,” He added. He informed that if weather remains clear, hopefully we will be able to restore the traffic soon.
Meanwhile Doda-Bhadarwah Road which was closed yesterday due to mud slides at Dradu and Sanai was restored for traffic this afternoon.
