Barwal residents hold protest, decide to boycott DDC polls

JAMMU: Inhabitants of Barwal village of Kathua on Sunday staged a protest in the village and announced to boycott the ongoing District Development Council (DDC) elections over an issue related to railway subway.
The villagers from Barwal assembled in village today and raised slogans against government authorities as well as Northern Railways.
The villagers said that from last thirteen months, their area is facing problem of railway subway, which has badly affected their lives while repeated assurances from Railway authorities as well as district administration failed to bring any respite.
“We have now decided to boycott DDC polls and no one will cast vote from our village,” the villagers said.
