Baramulla District Volleyball Championship begins

BARAMULLA: District Baramulla Volleyball Championship being organised by the Baramulla District Volleyball Association under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council begins at Indoor Stadium, here on Thursday.
As per the officials a total of 28 teams if man and eight teams of women are participating in the championship.
Peer Siraj-ud-Din, former member of Sports Council was the Chief Guest and SHO Baramulla Vilayat (inspector) and Satinder Singh Ex Manager of Sports Council and Hockey coach were the Guests of Honour on the occasion who inaugurated the championship. Ten matches played in on opening day.
Results: Syed Roomi beat SRM Welkin by 2-0; Makhdoomi volleyball Club beat Krankshivam by 2-1; Deedrop Byr lost to Seer volleyball Club by 2-0; Dangiwacha Volleyball Club beat Janbaz Club by 2-0; Ferozpora volleyball Club lost to Chinand Volleyball Club by 0-2; Nagried Club beat Ushkara Sobers by 2-0; Khawaja Bagh best Syed Kirmani by 2-0; Amargarh beat Dash Ushkara by 2-0; Jahama Volleyball Club beat Star Saloosa by 2-0; and Rebban Volleyball Club beat Andergam Volleyball Club by 2-0.
