Bar Association Jammu accords warm welcome to Chief Justice

JAMMU: J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu accorded warm welcome to Chief Justice of High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Justice N Kotiswar Singh in Conference Hall of Court Complex. All the High Court Judges of Jammu wing were also present on the occasion. A number of senior officers from civil and Police Administration including Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa, Commissioner JMC Rahul Yadav, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli, SP Kulbir Handa were also present on the occasion.
The welcome function commenced with inaugural address by General Secretary Parvesh Salaria after which Anshuja Tak anchored the ceremonial Bouquet presentation ceremony. President of e J&K High Court Bar Association, Senior Advocate Vikram Sharma, in his presidential address, briefed the gathering about illustrious profile of Chief Justice. Quoting live examples, Sharma informed the participants about humble and down-to-earth nature of the Chief Justice by stating that he had on spot asked about the possibility of slashing down prices of the judicial softwares so that lawyers in general are benefitted professionally.
Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh, by his oratory skills and masterly speech, he is known for, kept entire audience spell-bound all through his address. The audience had many occasions to give a thunderous applaud to the Chief Justice in his well-meaning address conveyed in simple manner. Chief Justice emphasized that young lawyers shall not resort to short-cuts prompted by impatience, as to emerge as the professional lawyers the youngsters would have to labour hard and get themselves recognized as such amongst the society.
J&K High Court Bar Association headed by President Vikram Sharma Sr. Advocate, for the first time, started a new series to honour the senior-most members in the Association by felicitating them for their life-long dedication and contribution in the service of Justice dispensation system. D R Khajuria became the first one to be presented with a memento for his life-time service for justice to common masses spanning to 60 years.
Others present on the occasion included former President P S Dutta, senior Advocate V R Wazir, former President M K Bhardwaj, former President Sunil Sethi, Sr Adv K S Johal, Sr Adv P N Goja, Sr Adv Seema Shekhar Khajuria, Sr Adv Surinder Kour, Advocates Roop Lal, Anwar Choudhary, Suresh Sharma, Ravi Dogra, Ajay Singh Manhas, Ashwani Khajuria, Sandeep Singh, Rajesh Thappa, Rajesh Lalotra, Arvind Khajuria, Anil Bargotra, Rohit Sharma, Umesh Sharma, Monika Kohli, Radha Sharma, Arti Anand, Rozina Afzal, M P S Pali, Baldev Singh, Veenu Gupta, Beauty Pandita, Jyoti Sharma, Parvez Choudhary, Pankaj Basotra, Rajinder Singh Thakur, Vikram Pangotra, Varun Kotwal, Atul Raina, Kamal Magotra, Rohit Sharma, Gagandeep Singh Lucky, Yasser Khan, Karjeet Singh Johal, Amita Khajuria, Supriya Chouhan, Kumar Dakhseesh Maharaj, Mamta Chib, Sheikh Saliqa, Shubika, Priya Bhan, Sanpreet Singh and Sachin Dev Singh.
The function was coordinated by Chetan Misri (Joint Secretary) and Utkarsh Pathania (Treasurer) and function concluded with a vote of thanks by Amit Gupta Vice-President, with recital of National Anthem.
