JAMMU: All round performance from Bandeep Singh on Friday guided New Challenger to a fine 23 runs victory against Evershine Cricket Club in the ongoing Salute and Tribute to Saichen Martyrs Twenty20 Tournament at Parade Ground, here.
Bandeep played fine innings of 54 runs and later clinched three important wickets to help the side win the game. He was later adjudged Man of the Match.
Earlier, New Challenger won the toss opted to bat set a target of 180 runs for nine wickets.
Bandeep made 33-ball 54 runs hitting four boundaries and two sixes. Gaurav Khajuria contributed 25 runs while Ashu and Manjeet Singh added 23 runs each.
For Evershine Club, Hardeep Singh was most successful bowler, who took five wickets for 21 runs in three overs.
In reply, Evershine Club could make 156 runs for eight wickets. Abhishant and Ajay were top scorers with 39 and 22 runs respectively. Hardeep Singh played unbeaten innings of 18 runs, followed by Jagandeep (15) and Mickey (14).
Bandeep Singh bowled well to take away three wickets for 36 runs in four overs while Pardeep Bali bagged two for 22. Sumit Singh secured one wicket.
