Balvinder demands CBI Probe into allotment of IT Based Parking Slots

JAMMU: Prominent RTI Activist Balvinder Singh during his press conference held on 10th March, 2023 after obtaining the information under RTI, had exposed a big scam with regard to the allotment of 32 IT based parking slots in Jammu City under Jammu Smart City Project costing Rs 9 Crore, to Baba Infra Tech with deep rooted conspiracy to deceive State Exchequer. He added that a well designed Contract Agreement was signed between Contractor and Officer of JMC for the revenue sharing whereby it was agreed upon that the contractor shall get 96 percent and JMC only 4 percent during first year, 94 percent contractor and 6 percent JMC in the second year, 90 percent to Contractor NS 10 percent to JMC and so on. It is pertinent to mention, he said that prior to the aforesaid contract JMC was getting 11 lakh for one slot whereas now after allotting 10 slots JMC got only 108700 in eleven months thus causing huge loss to the exchequer. Balvinder stated that though the JMC acted swiftly on his exposure and terminated the Contract within next two days, but no action was initiated, till date, against the erring officials responsible for this loss by drafting such contracts. He appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha to hand over this case to the CBI taking into consideration its seriousness and corrupt practices adopted in the allotment of various contracts by Jammu Smart City Projects Limited.
