JAMMU: Baloria XI clinched the First Summer Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament held under the banner of Shaheed Thakur Dass Sharma Club Akhnoor at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
In the final, played on Sunday, Baloria XI defeated Shastri Cricket Club by four wickets. Earlier, batting first, Shastri Club was bowled out cheaply for 45 runs in 14.5 overs. Bunty was only batsman to touch the double figure mark with 14 runs in his account.
For Baloria XI, Rahil Singh claimed four important wickets while Vishwajeet took two. Raman Dutta and Satish shared apiece each.
Batting second, Baloria XI overhauled the total in just 8.2 overs making 47 runs for six wickets. Satish played fine innings of 15 runs and remained the highest scorer. No other batsman could touch the double figure.
For his four wickets haul, Rahil Singh was declared Man of the Match.
The final was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Sanju as Umpires while Sandeep Manchanda was Scorer.
In the final and prize distribution function, Dr Ramesh Kumar was Chief Guest while Rajesh Dhar and Vijay Kumar Sharma were Guests of Honour.
