Bala Jyoti chairs conference on “Women in Electricity” at Bharat Electricity Summit 2026

JAMMU: Bala Jyoti, Member (Law) Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for UT of J&K and UT of Ladakh, on Saturday participated and chaired the Conference on “Women in Electricity:- Current and Courageous in Bharat Electricity Summit 2026” where women leaders, Vice Chancellor Dehradun, Director Transmission, Director Market Operation deliberated upon Future of women in field of power and electricity. Bala Jyoti, the chief Guest in the event, in her inaugural address emphasised to work collectively to achieve the goal of “Viksit Bharat 2047”. She focused on participation of talented women in unconventional fields like Power which is challenging and innovating.
She stressed inclusiveness of more women as frontline workers in the fields of energy and power. She further said that there must be a clear road map for women in energy, electricity and power. There is a need to recognise the inherent strength of women. She also stressed about safe and congenial working atmosphere at all levels. She concluded that India’s power sector is at a defining moment & we must with concerted efforts make endeavour to redefining the power sector to meet challenging perceptions. The Conference was a huge success and other participants deliberated upon the theme and it was unanimously felt that need of the hour is to strengthen educational and professional path ways to create mentoring and leadership opportunities.
