Bakshi gets life time achievement award

JAMMU: A long serving office and former general secretary of the Hockey Jammu and Kashmir, G.S Bakshi has been honoured with the lifetime achievement award for his contributions to the game of hockey.
Former district officer of the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Bakshi is considered to be the man behind promotion of Hockey in Kashmir Division.
Belongs to district Baramulla and presently put his stay in Jammu, Bakshi was presented the honours by the Hockey J&K during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held yesterday.
Important to mention here that G S Bakshi volunteered his resignation to the Hockey J&K as general secretary of the Association after he attained the age of 70 years, following the Sports Code.
“I am thankful to the Hockey J&K for the respect and honour bestowed on me. I still offer my time and services for the good of the game of Hockey for the sole reason that I love the game I have played and served in various capacities all these years,” Bakshi said.
