Bail denied in murder, rape case

JAMMU: 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Kishore Kumar rejected the bail application of Rajni Devi, wife of Sunil Kumar, resident of Sector B Laxmipuram Chinore Bantalab Jammu who was allegedly involved in rape and murder of a girl.
According to the police case, acting on the written complaint by Vaishano Devi, mother of the deceased (Name withheld), Gandhi Nagar Police registered an FIR vide No. 105/2015 for the commission of offence under Section 364 RPC. Vaishano Devi in her complaint had alleged that her daughter was missing since 12th March 2015. In this regard, the missing report was lodged in the aforesaid police station on 19th March 2015. Later, she amended her statement citing reliable sources that her daughter was kidnapped by one Sunil Kumar and his wife Rajni Devi, both residents of Laxmipuram, Chinore with intention to kill her, as Rajni Devi is a bad character lady.
Later, Sunil Kumar and Rajni Devi were arrested on 3rd May 2015. During the custodial investigation, the accused persons disclosed that on 12th March 2015, they enticed, and induced the victim from Nanak Nagar to Rehari Chowk with common criminal intention and thereafter she was seated in a vehicle (Scorpio) belonging to one Mohd Ibrahim and was taken to Chandan Vihar Muthi in a house belonging to one Mohinder Kumar, where Sunil Kumar and his wife were putting up on rent. Consequently, the victim was strangulated to death by Rajni with her Dupatta and with the intention to destroy Dupatta of the victim the accused Mohd Ibrahim took the aforesaid Dupatta towards Poonch and asked the accused persons namely Sunil Kumar and Rajni Devi to destroy the body of the victim. Upon this, both the accused chopped victim’s body into six pieces and dumped the same in a septic tank. 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Kishore Kumar after hearing both the sides observed that accused cannot be admitted to bail on the ground of ailment of her daughter-in-law in such a heinous and gruesome crime committed against an innocent girl, by raping and thereafter killing her and later on chopping her body into pieces. With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
