Bail denied in firing case

JAMMU: First Additional Sessions Judge Jammu M.A Chowdhary rejected the bail application of one Ankush Kumar alias Tony, son of Harmesh Kumar, resident of Mehmoodpur in Bishnah, who was involved in firing case at Bishnah.
According to police, complainant Parminder Singh, resident of Phinder lodged a written report at Police Station Bishnah on 29th May 2016, alleging that when he was sitting on the road to drink water, one Ravi Kumar started abusing him and all of a sudden fired with his pistol with an intention to kill him and during the course of investigation, Ravi Kumar and Ankush Salgotra alias Tony (applicant/accused) both were found involved in the commission of offences punishable under Sections 307, 341, 504, 506, 109 and 34 RPC and 3/27 Arms Act.
Court after hearing Additional Public Prosecutor Ajay Singh Manhas appearing for the State whereas Advocate Sham Lal appearing for the accused observed that charge against the accused is yet to be considered. “The use of a firearm has been shown in the commission of the offence by one of the accused and it has also been alleged that both the accused including applicant were involved in attempt to murder punishable with life imprisonment besides other offences”, the court observed adding that the grant of bail to the applicant/accused at this stage shall be pre-mature particularly in view of the apprehension that he may jump over the bail and/or also tamper with the prosecution evidence. With these observations court rejected the bail application.
