POONCH: Principal District and Sessions Judge, Poonch Tahir Khurshid Raina on Friday rejected the bail applications of four persons for their alleged involvement in drug peddling.
After hearing Pubic Prosecutor appearing for the State, the Court observed that the four accused persons were nabbed by the police with charas and herion. Besides this, they were also pushing others in the cobweb of drug menace.
The Court further observed the fundamental objective behind NDPS Act is to check drug menace. Many youth have fallen prey to the menace, who may not die instantly by consumption of contraband but they die daily which is more painful for parents and society, the Court added.
The Court observed that giving bail to accused applicants at this stage of investigation will amount to putting a blow on investigation and will encourage the perpetrators of the crime.
With these observations, the Court rejected the bail applications of the accused persons and directed SSP, Poonch to properly investigate the case and nab the real culprits, who are contaminating the society with drug menace.
