Baba Meer Shah Akhara bags Jammu wrestling trophy

JAMMU: Baba Meer Shah Akhara Domana bagged overall trophy in the 12th Jammu District Indian Style Wrestling Championship, organized by Jammu District Indian Style Wrestling Association under the aegis of State Sports Council, at Domana, here.
Earlier, around 40 wrestlers took part in this competition contesting in six different weight categories of 55 kg, 61 kg, 67 kg, 75 kg, 84 kg and 97 kg.
In this day-long event, president of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma was chief guest, who presented medals to the wrestlers excelling in the competition in addition to participation certificates. Prem Choudhary presided over the valedictory function while PR Sharma and Inderjeet Khajuria as also Bansi Lal Tidyal were guests of honour.
Mulkh Raj Sharma was director of the competition while Bansi Lal Tidyal presented vote of thanks. The bouts were officiated by the technical penal comprising Prem Kumar, Kulbir Singh, Darshan Lal, Mohd Fareed and Raj Hussain.
The results: 55 kg: Rustam Choudhary (Kairi), Ist; Yogesh Saini (Sarore), 2nd and Arshad Ali (Kanger), 3rd. 61 kg: Mushtaq Ahmed (Kairi), Ist; Parveen Singh (Sarore), 2nd and Bachan Singh (Domana), 3rd. 67 kg: Balwinder Singh (Halqa), Ist; Suraj Singh (Patta), 2nd and Ajay Singh (Patta), 3rd. 75 kg: Mohd Ashraf (Kairi), Ist; Narinder Singh (R S Pura), 2nd and Sunil Rakwal (Thathar), 3rd. 84 kg: Sakeel Khan (Domana), Ist and Darshan Lal (Patniyal), 2nd. 97 kg: Marf Hussain (Kairi), Ist and Ishant Sharma (Domana), 2nd.
