Young Star wins via tie-breaker
RS PURA: Young Star Football Club Simble Camp beat Singh Football Club Chouhala 2-1 in tie-breaker and won the Baba Bandha Bhadur Football Tournament, played at Simble Camp, here on Monday.
Earlier, in the stipulated time the match was ended in a 2-2 draw. Young Star Football Club took lead 2-1 till second half. However, Singh Club equalised the score in the last minute of the match.
The final match was witnessed by former Minister Suman Bhagat who was the Chief Guest while Congress District Rural President Nirmal Singh was the Guest of Honour.
Chief Guest distributed trophies among the winners and the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that sports and games infuse team spirit and discipline among the players, besides developing physical fitness and inculcating punctuality among them.
Bilbir Singh, Iqbal Singh, Kanwar Singh and Kartar Chand were also present.
