Awareness on Financial Inclusion by NABARD

POONCH: The District Development Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Rajouri/Poonch organised an awareness programme on Financial Inclusion at Village Gali in Panchyat Gali Pindi, Block Mandi, district Poonch. The awareness programme was attended by Mohd. Shafi Ayaz, Lead District Manager, Poonch, Kuldeep Sharma, District Coordinator, FLCC, Poonch, Mohd. Nasir Khan, President, Jamola Nehru Youth Club, Rajouri/Poonch, Navid Iqbal, Training Coordinator, Jamola Nehru Youth Club, Poonch and farmers from the village Pindi.
Des Raj, District Development Manager, NABARD, Rajouri/Poonch explained the objective of organising an awareness programme on financial Inclusion. He also highlighted NABARD schemes viz. Women Self Help Groups Scheme, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Farmers’ Club, Joint Liability Groups and other development schemes of NABARD. He informed that NABARD is implementing Women Self Help Groups scheme in District Poonch. The objectives of Women Self Help Groups are to socio-economically empower the poor women through these initiatives.
Kuldeep Sharma, District Coordinator, FLCC, Poonch in his address apprised the participants the benefits of an accounts with the bank. He motivated the participants to open the accounts under Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojna and obtained Rupay cards from the banks. He also explained the benefits of the scheme to the participants.
Mohd. Shafi Ayaz, Lead District Manager, Poonch in his address thanked NABARD for organising an awareness programme on financial inclusion which is really beneficial for the people of remote areas who needs awareness on banking services. He informed that in the changing economic scenario, it is expected that every citizen should have an account with a bank and added that now the banks are coming to their doorsteps and take advantage of the scheme. He also advised that if they face any difficulty to open the bank account, they can contact to him to sort out the difficulty being faced by them.
Mohd. Nassir Khan, President Jamola Nehru Youth Club, Rajouri also spoke on the occasion and highlighted his strategy to form Women Self Help Groups.
