Awareness activities on Swachhta Abhiyan organised

SAMBA: Field Publicity Unit Kathua in close coordination and cooperation with Rural Development Department and Education Department of district Samba organised a series of awareness activities in Vijaypur Block that includes theme based film shows, symposiums, awareness rallies, oath on Swachhta etc in order to sensitise and mobilise the masses in general and rural masses in particular especially at the grass root level about various aspects and provisions of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan which is a revolutionary initiative of Govt. of India aimed at to accomplish the vision of making India open defecation free and clean and green by October 2, 2019, the 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi the Father of Nation. Field Publicity Unit Kathua organized two theme based film shows at Jagrati Shiksha Niketan, High School, Badhali, Vijaypur and Govt. Middle School, Thalori, Vijaypur respectively. Two symposiums and awareness rallies were also organised during the awareness activities at Government Girls High School, Gurha Slathia, Vijaypur and Jagrati Shiksha Niketan High School, Badhali, Vijaypur respectively. An oath on Swachtta and to make the local areas, lanes, drains and the surroundings clean and green was also being administered to the staff members and students of all the three educational institutions during the intensive awareness activities on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. During two symposiums on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Govt. Girls High School, Gurha Slathia and Jagriti Shiksha Niketan High School 13 students in all from different standards of both the institutions participated with great zeal and zest and expressed their views on the theme.
While unveiling the concept of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, N. Gulshan Raina, Publicity Officer to Government of India, DFP, J & K stressed upon the audience to come forward and also make each and every citizen of their respective areas empower and aware to shoulder the responsibility of making the country open defecation free, clean and green so that the dream of the Father of Nation of “Clean and Green India” could be achieved and fulfilled.
Later, all the participants of symposiums at both the educational institutions were honoured with participation certificates by the organisers.
