JAMMU: The National Programme Manager of IAYP, Bivujit Mukhoti from National Head Office, New Delhi graced the occasion of Award Ceremony at Jodhamal Public School on Saturday.
There were 22 bronze awards and 10 silver awards and one gold award which was won by Jampians this year. Award Leader Shallu Sharma took the initiative of inviting the dignitary for the event and IAYP students staged a colourful cultural show for the Guest and the show was hosted by Rijuta Mahajan and Arpita Salgotra quite meticulously.
It was a very short and crisp programme appreciated by one and all.
Bivujit after the Award Ceremony took three sessions for class IX, X and XI for developing a leader within and then he also took a workshop for all the teachers of Jodhamal from 12:20 to 2:00 PM and each teacher felt like being a part of Award Programme.
Mukhoti congratulated the winners, the award leader and the management of the school for the wonderful exposure thay are giving to the students of Jammu.
He said that in spite of his programme tomorrow for Sri Lanka he had come to Jammu for this function because in a short stint Jodhamal has started competing with the Legacy schools like Doon and Welham not only for IAYP but for the DSMUN and the International Youth Conferences.
On the other hand a simultaneous Workshop for the students of different CBSE schools of Jammu was going on in the school OAT where Trilok Singh Bist Principal Jodhamal Public School took up a Leadership and Career Counselling Workshop under the Banner of Sahodaya School Complex Jammu Chapter.
Being the President of Sahodaya School Complex Jammu Trilok Singh Bist took the initiative of sensitizing the students of Jammu to become Young Leaders and give their best shot to their community.
There were a total of eight schools which participated in this workshop viz K C Gurukul Public School, K C International, Stephens International, JK Public School, Jammu Sanskriti School, DCM Public School Akhnoor, Jodhamal Public Schooland SOS Herman Gminer School were the prominent participants and each school had represented very well in the interactive session. Children were given the recipe to be a good leader and all the attributes of being a good leader was percolated down and students did participate well. The Format of the workshop was such that each child was involved by way of PPT or Videos or Caricatures and also by representing their schools in the feedback session. All the escort teachers were also given a chance to share their experience of the workshop and all equivocally felt that such workshops should be conducted more than often to broaden up the horizon of the students. In the second leg of the workshop in a nut shell it was conveyed to the students that they need to know their capabilities , potential, interest and ambition and then judge it on realistic grounds and the finally decide as to what they want to become in life. A good student is one who learns to say no for things which do not suit him and a good leader is one who can say no, for saying yes is always easy and there will be no conflict to be resolved but whether that situation will benefit the system is a million dollar question.
At the close of the workshop resource person Trilok Singh Bist thanked the former Head Boys of Jodhamal Abhayjeet Singh Kala and Divyansh Suri for being there and contribute to the Leadership Workshop. He also conveyed his thanks to all Heads of Schools for sending their kids in spite of all the heat and it resulted in a brainstorming session. Nandani Bakshi, Neetu Johri and all Teachers of Jodhamal put in their best efforts to make the workshop a success.
