Awake from slumber, redress grievances of lawyers: Bar to Admn

JAMMU: Continuing its ongoing agitation, J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu under the leadership of its President, senior Advocate M K Bhardwaj held a protest at District Court Complex, Janipur on Monday in support of their long pending demands. The Bar members abstained from work in all Courts on account of protest. The lawyers’ are protesting for long pending demand regarding construction of multi storey-building for housing all judicial works i.e., Registration work, CAT, DRT, AFT and other Tribunals within the a single premises. The lawyers have resolved to keep their protest going on till redressal of all their grievances. All the office bearers including Mohinder Pal Singh Pali, Surjeet Singh Andotra, Aditya Sharma, Amandeep Singh, Rohit Sharma, Gagandeep Singh Lucky, Yaseer Farooq Khan, Karanjeet Singh Johal, Naresh Kumar besides many senior & young lawyers participated in the protest.
While speaking on the occasion, M K Bhardwaj categorically stated that today’s demonstration is a mark of protest for awaking the administration from its deep slumber to do needful at the earliest. Bar President divulged that due to the shifting of Courts and Tribunals outside the Complex, lawyer fraternity and general public are facing insurmountable hardships. Moreover, as all sisters Bar Associations are also facing same problems, there is a need to raise similar type of multi-dimensional complexes in all Courts. He urged UT administration to take immediate steps to resolve all long pending demands/ issues of lawyers at the earliest, failing which Bar Association would be forced to intensify its protest.
