Yum…delicious!!! Those nuggets, muffins, packaged salad, and a can of diet soda, doesn’t it sounds like a perfect breakfast. May be it does but the add-on health threats are something that we tend to ignore.

These packaged foods may give us the advantage of saving time but they pose some hazardous effects on our health and lifestyle. Do we really need these processed food items at the hidden cost of our health?

Hence, it’s time that we commit ourselves more to our health and acknowledge the fact that our bodies are our temple and not some junk food dump yard. Given below is a list of such processed food items that we must avoid in order to balance our health and lifestyle.

Diet Soda: It seems a big work to cut and grind fresh fruits to get a glass of healthy fresh fruit juice. Instead to quickly substitute we grab a soda can (preferably diet), and we ten to believe that it really has less calories.

It’s a myth that ‘diet sodas have less calories. These diet sodas have more concentrated sweeteners that have more negative effect on our health. These are also the biggest contributor of digestive problems.

Chicken Nuggets: For chicken lover’s nothing could beat a better breakfast then chicken nuggets. For them it is easy to make, light weight and are equally delicious!

But the truth is these chicken nuggets, are even more capable of affecting your cholesterol levels than regular chicken dishes. These nuggets consume more oil, and while we think these nuggets are source of proteins in fact these are more of Fats and Carb’s.

They often contribute to metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes.

Nutty granola bars: So you thought that those nutty hunger grabs that you just bought are healthier as they give you the benefits of nuts and healthy sweets then nobody could have fooled you better.

People often tend to believe that instead of eating out, munching on a Granola Bar keeps you healthy, light-weight and even has no adverse effects on body.

These Granola Bars are marketed as a substitute for better health in reality they are totally opposite.

Ready-to-eat salad and dressings: We might have caught many of you by surprise but yes even these marketed ‘pre-made salads and dressings’ are not what they seems to be.

These salads and dressings are laced with high fructose corn syrup to improvise the taste. Manufacturers use these as they are cheap. However any day, a fresh cut salad can never be replaced with a ‘pre-made salad’.

No matter what all in the world is written over these processed food packages, like ‘Zero Trans-Fat’, ‘Highly-Healthy’ etc. They may never replace the benefits of a freshly cooked healthy food.
